Barcelona’s first game back at the Spotify Camp Nou after renovation is just over 24 hours away and the excitement in Catalonia could not be higher.

After over 900 days, Barcelona fans will be able to flock to the stands of the historic stadium and cheer their team on.

However, the club announced that they will not be able to send tickets for travelling away fans due to security concerns and the lack of secure seating for opposition fans yet.

Now, reported by SPORT, Athletic Club have found a means to ensure a small degree of support in the stands, albeit in a rather unconventional and unexpected fashion.

Special arrangements

By the time Barcelona announced that away fans cannot to accommodated this Saturday, several Athletic Club fans had already planned their travel and stay in Catalonia to witness the game and cheer their team on. 582 fans, specifically, had already made such arrangements.

The Basque club, thus, have decided to hand out the tickets meant for the immediate environment of players and the manager to the fans who have already made arrangements.

After all, those seats were handed out to Athletic Club by Barcelona as tickets of ‘commitment.’

The board are contacting all fans who have made arrangements for the trip to Catalonia to check if their travel was cancellable and are handing out tickets to fans who cannot claim a refund on their plan.

As a result of the same, there will be a small travelling troupe of fans in the Spotify Camp Nou’s first game post-renovation, which Barcelona will look to kick off in grand style.

Joan Laporta and Co. are working hard to ensure that Saturday evening is celebrated as best as it can, with a surprise guest even being called for the commemorative kick-off. After all, it will mark the beginning of a new era.
