Athletico v Corinthians Brasileirão date moved to Thursday 19

The Brasileirão second-round meeting between Athletico and Corinthians has been moved to Thursday 19 at 19:30 at Arena da Baixada. It had originally been scheduled for 18.

The club said in a statement that the change was made due to limited police resources on the initially planned date.

The fixture had already been pushed back because of the Supercopa do Brasil, which Corinthians won on Sunday against Flamengo at Mané Garrincha.

Before they meet, both sides play on 12 in round three. Athletico host Santos at 19:00 at Arena da Baixada, while Corinthians face Bragantino at 10:00 at Neo Química Arena.

Athletico opened their campaign with a 1-0 win at Internacional at Beira-Rio and currently sit eighth with 3 points. Corinthians lost their opener to Bahia and are 14th without a point.
