Nico Williams, Laporte and Unai Simón reported back at Lezama on Tuesday after their World Cup triumph on 19 July, rejoining Athletic’s squad to prepare for La Liga.

According to El Correo, Simón was the first to appear, working with Álex Padilla beside the central building before the group moved to pitch five for the session.

The goalkeeper arrived among the earliest alongside Yeray. Laporte followed on his own, greeting the media, and Nico Williams was last to step out, chatting with Robert Navarro, Guruzeta, Hugo Rincón and Rego.

Once on the grass, players broke into groups for continuous running. Laporte and Williams shared a group with Djaló and Yeray Álvarez, while Simón completed specific goalkeeper drills.

Almost half an hour later, Edin Terzic emerged from the ramp to pitch five. The German coach addressed the squad, then the group applauded the three world champions.

From here, Nico Williams, Simón and Laporte begin their tailored pre-season, taking on Terzic’s ideas. Unlike team-mates who have had more than a month, they must adapt at speed to be available as soon as possible.
