Atlanta’s National Women’s Soccer League expansion franchise has unveiled its name, crest and colours, introducing Atlanta City FC. The identity celebrates the city’s history and future ambition.

Atlanta were awarded the league’s 17th expansion slot in 2025, and are one of two clubs set to join in 2028. On Monday, Founding Member deposit holders, AMBSE associates and local leaders helped present the process and final brand.

The club said in a statement that the new identity is inspired by the city’s resilience, culture, innovation and ambition, aiming to unite communities across the region and advance women’s sport.

Ownership set out to build a world-class club with a brand reflecting Atlanta’s strength, diversity and spirit, crediting supporter input and expressing excitement for the team to take the pitch in the coming years.

AMB Sports and Entertainment gathered feedback from Atlanta football supporters, NWSL Atlanta Founding Member deposit holders, AMBSE associates and local leaders throughout the naming and design process.

The crest incorporates four symbols, a Phoenix for resilience, a four-petalled Dogwood blossom for unity and connection, roots for the city’s foundation and history, and a hidden 'A' as a nod to its heart.
