On Monday, November 10, Atlético Madrid announced a change in ownership. More than half of the club's shares have been acquired by Apollo Sports Capital.

In recent years, the club has posted strong results, winning the Spanish league title in both the 2013/2014 and 2020/2021 seasons. With this new investor, Atlético now aims even higher. The club explains that this investment will be used to strengthen its standing in world football, improve its financial position, and boost its sporting competitiveness.

Miguel Ángel Gil and Enrique Cerezo will remain CEO and president, respectively, despite selling a part of their shares. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2026.
