Atletico Madrid appear to be losing hope of losing David Hancko this summer, having been unable to agree a deal with Feyenoord. However, this hasn’t stopped them from pursuing another deal with the Eredivisie giants.
Atleti are on the lookout for a new backup goalkeeper, with Horatiu Moldovan seeking a move away in his bid to secure regular playing time during the 2024-25 season. They’ve turned their attention to Justin Bijlow, who’s expected to be number two at Feyenoord for the forthcoming campaign, behind Timon Wellenreuther.
As reported by FR12.nl, Atleti have had a €2.5m offer for Bijlow rejected by Feyenoord. At this stage, it’s not clear what the asking price would be for the Dutch ‘keeper.
It remains to be seen how Atletico Madrid’s ‘keeper situation plays out over the remainder of the summer. Moldovan looks likely to leave, although there have been no concrete offers for him so far. If he does go, a replacement would be essential, which is why club bosses are trying to pre-empt a departure.
