The Spanish club made their enquiry in recent days, asking for the conditions of a loan with an option to buy. The 23-year-old France international, capped 16 times, does not wish to leave on loan this season.

Gusto played 49 matches for Chelsea last season in all competitions, starting 38. He scored three goals and provided five assists.

As things stand, Gusto should remain at Chelsea unless there is a late twist. He has started all three of Chelsea’s matches so far this season.
