Atlético de Madrid have enquired about signing Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto (23), but the France international has rejected the chance to sign for Los Colchoneros, according to L’Equipe. The outlet understands that the former Olympique Lyonnais Academy graduate is expected to remain at Stamford Bridge this season. Gusto notably started all three of Chelsea’s competitive games this season, although in a more advanced and central position than predicted in Xabi Alonso’s set-up. Gusto was initially a target for Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester City, but Enzo Maresca’s Cityzens have retained the services of Rico Lewis and Matheus Nunes.

L’Equipe reports that Atlético de Madrid got in touch with Chelsea to enquire about Malo Gusto’s exit terms on loan. Atlético were in the market for a right-back after parting ways with AS Roma-bound Nahuel Molina. Their only senior option in this position in Spain international full-back Marcos Llorente. But Gusto had no intention of leaving Chelsea on loan this season, on the back of his maiden World Cup with France. Chelsea have won their two Premier League games. They face Premier League champions Arsenal FC this weekend.
