Atlético-MG goalkeeper Everson has named Flamengo striker Pedro as the toughest centre forward to face in Brazil. He said opponents need to study the forward to try to nullify him.

"Pedro. He has many tools for a centre forward. He finishes with his right, left and head, he can chip, he can try to dribble you, a natural finisher. When we play against him, we study him as much as possible, because he finishes first time, takes two touches, he knows how to finish very well. He has had immense quality since Fluminense," he told Charla Podcast.

Pedro started for the first time since Carlo Ancelotti arrived. In Brazil's 4-0 win over India on Saturday 3, he scored the second and helped create one of Samuel Lino's goals. He also had two other efforts, one wide and one against the post.

He was substituted around the hour mark and often dropped out of the box to open space. Like Lino, he ends this international window with reasons to believe he has strengthened his case for selection.

Pedro has 26 goals in 2026, with 16 in the Brasileirão, second behind Viveros on 18. He scored twice in April in Flamengo's 4-0 win at Atlético-MG at Arena MRV, and he is due to face Everson again on 26 October at the Maracanã in round 32. Before then, Pedro and Lino are set to return on Monday 5 and should be available to face Santos on Thursday 8 at 19:30 Brasília time at Vila Belmiro in round 29.
