Atlético-MG have made an offer to Shakhtar Donetsk to sign midfielder Maycon, leaving his future at Corinthians uncertain.
According to Globo.com, talks between Corinthians and Shakhtar have stalled. The club had agreed a three-year deal with the player when Fabinho Soldado was football executive, but after his exit at the end of 2025 the board cut it to two years.
Shakhtar are willing to release Maycon without a fee while keeping 50% of his economic rights, but prefer a three-year contract with Corinthians to extend the window for a future sale.
Atlético-MG’s proposal follows the same structure, and offers three years. Corinthians have been notified of the interest. Maycon plays in a role Atlético-MG aim to fill for 2026.
A Corinthians academy graduate, Maycon has made 248 appearances and scored 18 goals. He won three Paulistas in 2017, 2018 and 2025, the 2017 Brasileiro and the 2025 Copa do Brasil.
His latest loan spell, which began in 2022, ended on 31 December 2025. He finished last season as Timão captain, trusted by coach Dorival Júnior, who asked the board to sign him.
