Barcelona and Atletico Madrid lock horns later today in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal to decide who meets Real Madrid in the finale.

The first leg at Montjuic ended 4-4 after Barcelona could not hold on to a deserved lead and the Catalans will have it all to do once more at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

Just before the clash, however, the Blaugrana have been met with some unpleasant news in terms of the financial situation with the possibility of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor being deregistered once more a real scenario.

Atletico Madrid president speaks

Speaking to the media ahead of tonight’s clash, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo was asked about his thoughts on the game ahead and the registration situation Barcelona have found themselves in once more.

He began by giving his opinion and prediction for the second leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal which will be played later tonight at Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

“I think we are going to get ahead. The team wants to pass the tie. A final against Madrid would be very nice and ideal to redeem the last defeat.”

He was then asked to speak on Dani Olmo’s registration situation and how he saw the entire saga which does not reflect well on La Liga or Barcelona.

“We don’t have to say anything, La Liga is the one who has to talk,” he began.

He then called for respect for the CSD’s decision to grant the player the right to play despite the issue.

“Here everything is exceeded. If Dani Olmo is playing it’s because he has to play. There has been a sentence that has said that it can play because it will have to be respected.”

“We like to watch football games with good players and Dani Olmo is a great player,” he added.
