Atlético Madrid linked with surprise move for Fulham star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have this week been credited with an interest in a member of the attacking ranks at Premier League outfit Fulham.

The player in question? Alex Iwobi.

Atlético, it is understood, are on the lookout for reinforcements out wide with a view to next season.

The Rojiblancos are keen to bring in a player capable of unbalancing opposing defences, courtesy of dribbling ability and flair.

And this search has landed Diego Simeone and co. at the doorstep of the aforementioned Alex Iwobi.

Nigerian international Iwobi is fresh off a fine season on the books of Fulham, which saw him rack up nine goals and six assists in the Premier League.

And as per a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing AfricaFoot, such exploits did not go unnoticed amongst those in the boardroom at the Metropolitano:

‘According to the outlet ‘Africafoot ,’ a specialist in players from that continent, citing sources close to the player, Atlético Madrid are monitoring the winger.’

It now remains to be seen if such interest culminates in an Atléti offer for Iwobi.
