The Scottish Premiership champions were drawn against the West of Scotland Premier Division outfit in last Sunday’s fourth round draw.
Tommy Sloan’s men are set to face the Hoops on the weekend of 17/18 January next year, a fixture that represents a once-in-a-lifetime occasion for the club from the East Ayrshire village. It’s believed that Kilmarnock have made Rugby Park available should an alternative venue be needed for the match to take place.

However, Talbot have stated that they are engaged in “positive” talks about the possibility of hosting the match at their own ground, Beechwood Park.
Releasing a Club statement via X, it read: “The club had a positive meeting with East Ayrshire Council & local police yesterday regarding the requirements for the Scottish Cup fixture against Celtic to be played at Beechwood Park.”
“The club will now prepare our match day operations plan (inside & outside the ground) for submission to the Safety Advisory Group which is scheduled for next Friday.”
“Further details for the fixture will be released in due course through official club channels.”

In other news – but relating to the West of Scotland League and Celtic – Efe Ambrose has joined Port Glasgow Juniors. Ambrose – who played for Celtic between 2012 and 2017 – is on the move again. Port Glasgow Juniors confirmed on Wednesday night that the 37-year-old will strengthen their bid for promotion, teaming up with manager Tam Jamieson. Jamieson is thought to have been keen to bring Ambrose in for quite a while.
Ambrose has enjoyed a wide-ranging career in Scotland, featuring at Morton and fellow WOSL Third Division side Glasgow United before making the switch to Inverclyde. He made 168 appearances during his time with Celtic during a trophy-laden spell under Neil Lennon.
