It seems that there’s a different favourite to win the Scottish Premiership every week and we approach the final round of fixtures it seems to be that the bookies don’t seem to agree…

Some are offering the shortest odds on Hearts while others are favouring Celtic, this of course after the Rangers went into the weekend matches as clear market leaders. It’s the very essence of non gamstop sports betting and it’s why Scottish football is so intriguing for the fans.

There are three teams chasing the most keenly fought title in European football this season, all three gaining momentum then suffering set-backs throughout the campaign and all three looking at what they have to do to secure the trophy on Saturday 14th May.

Before the finale there’s so much football to be played and so many questions to be asked of all three sides. This coming weekend Celtic travel to the capital to take on Hibs at Easter Road before the next day the Rangers make the same trip across the M8 motorway but their destination is Tynecastle Park, home of Heart of Midlothian.

Martin O’Neill appreciates that his side can draw level with Hearts ahead of that game kicking off and clearly one or even both with drop points which will suit Celtic fine. The Champions though must take care of their own business and Easter Road has been the toughest away venue for the Hoops in recent seasons.

Derek McInnes knows that a win will effectively knock the Rangers out of the title race ahead of their visit the next week to Celtic Park with the Rangers possibly facing the prospect of playing that game without any support following the rioting from their ultras group the Union Bears at their Scottish Cup quarter final defeat to Celtic on 8th March.

Celtic will give the latest Ibrox club 2100 tickets for the most important Glasgow Derby since the fixture began way back in February 2015, but only of the Union Bears ultras are excluded. The SPFL has appointed a subcommittee to determine the rights and wrongs of this row and that outcome will be binding on both clubs.

Hearts the day before are at Fir Park to play Motherwell who yesterday won at Ibrox and have given Derek McInnes’ more problems this season than any other side. Motherwell will fancy their chances and will also have Celtic to come at their place, with many Motherwell fans placing bets ahead of the weekend on their side beating all three title challengers this season.

Celtic go to Fir Park the following midweek when Hearts are at home to Falkirk, on paper the easier match but it was John McGlynn’s who knocked Hearts out of the Scottish Cup at Tynecastle, so nothing can be taken for granted.

It’s likely to remain uncertain until the final matches of the season with the title winners playing at Celtic Park. Or maybe the Rangers will swing things back in their favour by winning their next two matches away to both Hearts and Celtic. Then it would be anyone’s title.
