Hull City target Mert Kömür has avoided serious damage after taking an ankle blow during Augsburg’s 5-2 friendly defeat to Bournemouth.

According to Augsburger Allgemeine, head coach Manuel Baum said after Thursday’s game that the issue was not structural, only painful. Augsburg were beginning their training camp in Achenkirch, Austria.

Even so, the attacking midfielder may be held back from upcoming training sessions.

The 21-year-old was understood to have gone into the match with a slightly injured ankle after a previous knock.

Whether he reduces his workload or joins in fully will depend on how much pain he feels.

The update will be a slight concern for newly promoted Premier League side Hull, who have been regularly linked with Kömür.
