Austin FC defeated Minnesota United 1-0 on Sunday at Q2 Stadium as a lone goal by Maximiliano Urruti earned his side the three points. The Texas team finally won their first game since March 5, recording one defeat and two consecutive draws before recuperating.
The game kicked off with a defensive tone by both sides, forcing a lackluster first 45 minutes with neither side managing a shot on goal. But it was Austin FC who returned to the pitch with a rejuvenated energy, pushing numbers forward before finding the back of the net.
Diego Fagundez launched the game-winning play, running up the left to find Urruti and Hector Jimenez on the right. The defender took possession, and quickly crossed the ball into the box as Urruti recuperated from a foul to manage the right footed shot into the bottom left corner.
Minnesota United attempted to retaliate after the goal, but failed to create anything definitive.
The victory sends Austin FC to fourth place on the Western Conference table, leaving Minnesota in 10th with eight points in six games.

Ethan Finlay (RW) - 6.5/10 - Disappointing, no real impact from him with only15 touches in 60 minutes. Alexander Ring (CM) - 7/10 - Tried with three off target shots, but must be more defined in the final third. Sebastián Driussi (CAM) - 6.5/10 - Sloppy on the ball, one shot on target in 80 minutes of play. Contributed in the midfield and build up, but must be better when finishing. Daniel Pereira (CM) - 6.5/10 - Active in the midfield, but failed to lead any offensive efforts. Diego Fagúndez (LW) - 7.5/10 - Involved but messy on the ball when finishing a play, missing edge and sharpness.

Robin Lod (RW) - 6/10 - One off-target shot in 80 minutes of play is disappointing, expectations are higher for the player. Wil Trapp (CM) - 6/10 - Extremely disappointing from the captain as he appeared absent for the majority of his time on the pitch. No urgency on the attack, sitting back content with mediocracy. Emanuel Reynoso (CAM) - 8/10 - Couldn't get anything definitive, but the most active and creative on the attack throughout. Involved himself in every possible play. Kervin Arriaga (CM) - 7/10 - Active throughout the pitch, delivered defensively but missed the offensive urgency. Joseph Rosales (LW) - 7/10 - A decent attempt on target in the 51st minute, but beyond that nothing to report.
