Austria Vienna 0-0 Braga - Warriors qualify for the UEFA Conference League | OneFootball

Braga are through to the Conference League after a 0-0 draw at Austria Vienna in the playoff second leg. Leading 2-0 in the tie after a comfortable victory at the Quarry, their progression was rarely in doubt.

The hosts got on top early on with Julian Hettwer firing high and wide. He had another chance after Johannes Eggestein’s effort was saved by Bernardo Fontes, the Brazilian doing well to deny Hettwer who pounced on the rebound.

Kelvin Boateng was next to go close before Braga finally tested Samuel Radlinger in the 40th minute, the goalkeeper turning Gabriel Silva’s shot wide.

Stephan Helm got his half-time team talk spot on as the hosts started the second half on fire.

Carlos Vicens brought on Diogo Travassos and Mario Dorgeles and it did the trick. The Warriors weathered the storm, got on the ball and dictated the pace of the game.

Travassos tested Radlinger in the 70th minute and Braga closed out the contest. It was far from pretty once again, Vicens’ side keeping clean sheets in all six qualifiers and scoring just once on the road.

The Portuguese club go into the UEFA Conference League draw in Pot 1 alongside Atalanta, Ajax, Freiburg, Monaco and Copenhagen.
