According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, AJ Auxerre have reached an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion for winger Ibrahim Osman (20). The Ghanaian international will join on a loan, with an option to buy.

Romano reports that the option is valued at around €16m, which, if triggered, would be a transfer record for the Ligue 1 side. Their current record transfer is €5m, which they spent on Benoît Pedretti in the 2006/07 season and Thomas Kahlenberg in the 2005/06 season.

Osman reportedly rejected multiple approaches from Auxerre before the loan agreement was finally reached. The winger will now attend his medical, and the deal is considered to be done unless something unexpected occurs during the examination.

Osman only joined Brighton last summer and has yet to make an appearance for his parent club, having spent last season on loan in the Netherlands with Feyenoord. With Feyenoord, he made 32 appearances (including 7 in the UEFA Champions League), scoring four and assisting three times.
