Auxerre announce the arrival of Lille right-back Akim Zedadka. He will be joining the club until the end of the season on loan. The announcement does come as somewhat of a surprise being the player was recently acquired from Clermont.
Though he was brought in as a free transfer, he was a player who had interest from other clubs. This season he has not been a clear starter, but has found minutes off the bench and started in 3 matches with Les Dogues. There was no additional detail on the reason for the move, but the 27-year-old may have wanted the loan to Auxerre for more playing time.
The Algerian right-back should find time at the position with his new club fairly easily. Auxerre has struggled on defence and have not had luck with their replacements for former right-back, Carlens Arcus. The club is currently in 17th place on the Ligue 1 table. If Zedadka does find an immediate starting role he will be thrown into the fire quickly with their next match being against Monaco.
