Avaí have completed the loan of midfielder Hyan from Santos until the end of Série B, running to 30 November. He will play the Catarinense and Copa do Brasil for the Florianópolis club as he seeks minutes.
Diario Do Peixe reports that Santos extended his deal from July to December 2027. He had been told by the last two coaching staffs he would not be used.
Last year the club pitched a sporting project in renewal talks. With his deal due in December, it was pushed to July, he sought termination when plans stalled, and after meetings the club kept him under contract.
The club then accepted he needed minutes, added a few months to his deal, and allowed the move. Last season he made only two brief outings, on 27 April against Red Bull Bragantino, entering at 33 minutes in a 2-1 loss, and on 24 August against Bahia, at 46 minutes in a 2-0 defeat.
He scored in a friendly against RB Leipzig, aged out of the academy and was tried as a training starter by coach Caixinha, but was not used. He missed time with a medial collateral ligament sprain and was an unused substitute in 4 Paulista, 2 Copa do Brasil and 15 league matches.
He drew enquiries from Atlético-MG, Vitória and Portland in the United States, prioritising a sporting plan over money, and his camp filed for termination in frustration.
