Axel Disasi has been restored to Chelsea’s first-team group by Liam Rosenior on Tuesday, after months on the fringes. The 2022 World Cup runner-up has not featured for the Blues for a year.
According to L'Équipe, Rosenior said he had a very good conversation with the defender and told the squad that everyone started with a clean slate, adding that reintegrating him was the right thing to do.
Disasi, 27, had been frozen out under Enzo Maresca since the start of the season and spent the second half of 2024-25 on loan at Aston Villa. On his return he was placed in what British media call the Bomb Squad, playing only sporadically with the reserves.
His last Chelsea appearance came in the Premier League against Wolverhampton on 20 January 2025.
Chelsea host Cypriot side Paphos in the Champions League on Wednesday at 21:00. Estevao, Jamie Gittens and Malo Gusto are back in training, while Enzo Fernandez is ill and remains a doubt.
