Lille have agreed to sell Ayyoub Bouaddi to Manchester City in a €100m deal including bonuses, a record overseas sale in Ligue 1 history, according to RMC. The 18-year-old Morocco international is expected to sign a five-year contract with an option for a sixth.

Bouaddi was at Stade Raymond Kopa on Sunday but will not feature for Lille against Angers this afternoon. He remains under contract with Lille until 30 June 2029 and has eight caps for Morocco.

The transfer will also set a new benchmark for Lille, surpassing Nicolas Pépé's €80m switch to Arsenal in 2019.

He should travel to the north of England on Monday to undergo a medical and sign.

After his first World Cup this summer, the Franco-Moroccan would be asked to take on the challenge of succeeding Rodri in City's holding role. The Spaniard, the 2024 Ballon d'Or, has joined Barcelona.
