Babu left Big Brother Brasil on Tuesday 10 and, as a devoted Flamengo fan, immediately sought updates on the club. According to Coluna Do Fla, his shifting reactions quickly spread across social media.

He was delighted to learn that Flamengo had signed Lucas Paquetá. News of defeats in the Supercopa do Brasil and the Recopa Sul-Americana then wiped the smile from his face.

It worsened when he was told coach Filipe Luís had been dismissed before the Carioca final. Relief followed as he heard Flamengo beat Fluminense to win the state title on Sunday, the eighth.

Babu had faced Milena and Chaiany in the latest eviction. He received 68.62% of the vote and left the race for the Big Brother Brasil prize.

The Carioca triumph has lifted Flamengo’s mood this season. Leonardo Jardim’s side now chase another Brasileirão victory to push towards the top places, and sit 12th on four points.

Flamengo host Cruzeiro at 21:30 Brasília time on Wednesday 11 at the Maracanã.
