Santos have put together back-to-back wins for only the second time this season.

They beat Deportivo Cuenca 3-0 in the Sudamericana and Vitória 3-1 in the Brasileiro, both at Vila Belmiro. According to Diario Do Peixe, the results secured a play-off place and ensure they enter the World Cup break outside the relegation zone.

The previous streak this month came with a 2-0 league win over Red Bull Bragantino at Vila Belmiro, then 2-0 at Coritiba in the Copa do Brasil.
