Eintracht have kicked off their preparations for the 2026/27 season with a series of performance tests.

Performance and medical tests are in full swing at Eintracht, with 26 players undergoing 16 different examinations over ten hours across two days. Yet the physical demands were eclipsed by the Eagles’ joy at being reunited with their team-mates for the first time since the season ended 56 days earlier.

While eight players are still enjoying extra time off after participating at the World Cup, new summer signing Malik Pimpong and returning striker Noel Futkeu joined up with the squad for the first time. Jonathan Burkardt celebrated his 26th birthday in suitably sweat-soaked fashion. Happy birthday, Jonathan! 

Returning loanees Junior Dina Ebimbe, Jessic Ngankam, Niels Nkounkou and Simon Simoni were also back in the fold. They were joined in the first-team pool by U21 players Keito Kumashiro and Davis Bautista, who likewise completed the full programme of medical examinations, fitness tests and performance assessments, ranging from endurance testing and dental check-ups to ECGs and EMGs. 

The second day of testing takes place on Sunday, before the squad holds its first pre-season training session on Monday from 10:30 CEST, live on EintrachtTV.
