Ballon d'Or shortlists to be revealed on 8 September | OneFootball

The 2026 Ballon d'Or shortlists will be unveiled on 8 September, a month and a half before the ceremony in London on 26 October.

According to L'Équipe, the announcement will run between 11:00 and 16:00 across the Ballon d'Or social channels and ballondor.com.

Thirty names will appear on both the men's and women's lists.

Nominees for the other awards, best young player, goalkeeper, coach, season's top scorer and club of the year, will also be revealed that day.

Staging it there is a first since 2019, when Paris's Théâtre du Châtelet became the event's venue. The male winner will succeed Ousmane Dembélé as the 70th recipient, and the female winner will follow Aitana Bonmati as the eighth.
