Baraja has been offered to Mallorca as they assess candidates to replace the dismissed Jagoba Arrasate, though he is not viewed as a leading option. The team sit 18th with 13 matches remaining, one point off safety.

According to Diario de Mallorca, sporting director Pablo Ortells has received numerous approaches via agents, including Baraja, and is keen to move quickly to avoid disrupting planning.

Baraja is a Valencia icon, outstanding as a player and later the coach who kept them up in 2022/23. His rescue act drew on renewed competitiveness and the emergence of Javi Guerra and Diego López.

The following campaign he maintained that trajectory, keeping Valencia clear of trouble and pushing for a Conference League place, which ultimately slipped away. Results then tailed off and he departed in December 2024, with Carlos Corberán taking over.

Before Mestalla he managed Elche, Rayo Vallecano, Sporting de Gijón, CD Tenerife and Zaragoza, often in demanding circumstances. From Palma, Baraja is not considered a priority, and other former Valencia bosses such as Javi Gracia and Quique Flores appeal to the hierarchy.
