Juan Bernat speaks frankly on Valencia, says he has always dreamed of returning | OneFootball

Juan Bernat has reiterated his bond with Valencia, stressing a lifelong wish to go back one day. "I have always had the dream of returning," said the SD Eibar left back, who is targeting promotion to Primera División.

Speaking to AS, he said: "It is my home and I would be delighted to come back one day".

On leaving Mestalla, he explained: "The chance came from Bayern, one of the best teams in the world, with Pep Guardiola as coach, and it was very difficult to say no".

Reflecting on Paterna’s run of left backs, including José Luis Gayà, Jordi Alba and Alejandro Grimaldo, he said: "Quite a few of us have come through. I do not know what explanation there could be, there has to be some coincidence as well".

Bernat spent 15 years in Paterna before making his Valencia first-team debut. He is now beginning a new chapter with Eibar.
