Good work

It is a bittersweet feeling. I think we did enough to win the game. We leave here with only one point. It is a little reward for what we saw in the game. Football is like that. We are in that moment in which the opponents when offering little, can complicate the game for you. We have to take away the fact that the team's work has been good and continuous. There is an improvement -not in the result, but in what we want to be and where we want to go.

Game-by-gameThis assessment cannot be made until time has passed and we show what the team's performance level is. The young squad we have gives us the possibility of having competition for positions that we did not have last season. Now, we have to get the most out of it. Last season is over. New players have just arrived and we will have time to work. The objective is set on the pitch and game-by-game. The club will come out to assess what the objective for the season is.

A lack of luck

An aspect to improve is the management of the closing minutes. We have to know how to manage these types of moments to go into halftime 1-0 up. We were unlucky in that action. It was Vilarreal's first shot.

It is cruel to go into halftime with that scoreline, but we have to pick ourselves up like we did in the second half. We did everything possible to win, but we did not have the luck we have had on other days.

The team were energetic and believed in what we were doing. We had opponents in a good dynamic in front of us, and today they felt uncomfortable and did not create many difficult situations for us.

André Almeida

André is a player who appears between the lines and can offer us things. We thought he could also launch counterattacks. In the final part of the match, the two forwards were running. We will alternate depending on the match and that is what comes from having players who can play in different positions. The pity is that we did not get the three points.

Growing

I think we had a very good match, perhaps the best of the four so far. I have to stick with the feeling that the team gave off. Regardless of who plays, we were aggressive, we stole the ball and we ran on the counterattack. We created danger and we scored the goal. I identified with what I saw and it is what I want for Valencia CF. If we continue in this way, we will surely get victories.

Attacking variantsThe games in which André can play will be those in which we have more possession, and he can make good passes. With two forwards we look to play more directly. Today the work was good with both variants. We tried to do everything possible to be able to find the goal. We will vary things depending on each match strategy.

Taking advantage of the break

We would have liked to have gone into the international break with three points. It will help us to slot in the players who have just arrived, review things and insist on some aspects. We have to take advantage of the time with the players who stay here to work. We have to hold on to what we saw today. If on top of that you have Mestalla pushing you on, it gives the players a boost. They have helped us a lot to be ourselves.

Working and persisting

One thing is what one would like and another is what happens. We have to try to show commitment, belief and confidence in what we do. We know that to get out of this situation we have to insist on a series of things, and that is what we are going to do. If we had a bad feeling, we would not have competed as we did. What we have seen today should give us hope.
