Barça keeping tabs on Malick Fofana

FC Barcelona is already thinking about future attacking reinforcements. According to journalist Alfredo Martínez (Sport), the Catalan club has set its sights on Malick Fofana, the young Olympique Lyonnais winger. The club has reportedly already made initial contact with his representatives.

Barcelona secured Marcus Rashford on loan this summer, with a purchase option valued between 30 and 35 million euros. The Englishman is having a decent season, tallying 6 goals and 7 assists in 15 matches. Keeping him at the club remains a possibility, but his high salary could complicate matters if the purchase option is exercised.

Fofana, signed by Lyon for nearly 20 million euros in 2024, has scored 17 goals and delivered 8 assists in 74 appearances. Fast, technically gifted, and right-footed, he usually operates on the left flank. Currently sidelined with an ankle injury, he could be out for several months. If Barça decide to make a move, it would likely be in the summer—or even later, depending on Lyon’s financial situation.
