FC Barcelona has just released an update on Gavi's injury. The young midfielder is set to undergo surgery.

Gavi has been sidelined for several days after suffering an injury to his right knee. Speaking to the press, Hans-Dieter Flick explained last Saturday that a decision regarding surgery would be made at the start of the week. This Monday, the Camp Nou club made their choice. As announced in an official statement, Gavi will have to go under the knife.

“First team player Pablo Páez Gavira (Gavi) underwent intense physical stress tests yesterday after completing conservative treatment for a radial meniscus injury in his right knee. To ensure optimal recovery and a return to competitive action, Gavi will undergo arthroscopic surgery tomorrow performed by Dr. Joan Carles Monllau, under the supervision of the club's medical staff. A new medical report will be issued once the procedure is complete,” the statement reads.
