Barcelona add Monaco star to transfer shortlist | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona have added a member of the attacking ranks at AS Monaco to their list of striker targets for the remainder of the transfer window.

That’s according to Diario Sport, citing French outlet L’Équipe, who highlight Folarin Balogun as the player in question.

It is of course common knowledge across world football at this point that Barcelona are on the hunt for reinforcements at centre-forward with a view to the season ahead.

Following the respective summer departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, Hansi Flick’s squad has been left looking alarmingly short on options through the middle.

A whole host of frontmen from across the continent have in turn been linked with potential arrivals in Catalunya’s capital over the last couple of months.

And as alluded to above, this week, yet another name is understood to have been added to the shortlist drawn up by Deco and his team of Blaugrana directors. As per a report from Sport:

‘Barça have recently shown interest in Folarin Balogun and have joined a race that also includes Tottenham and Aston Villa.’

Should Monaco ultimately make the call to sanction their American international’s departure over the coming week, they are hopeful of bringing in ‘a significant sum’.
