After weeks of back-to-back news of talented youngsters agreeing deals to leave FC Barcelona in search of new opportunities, Juliano Belletti and Barça Atlètic desperately needed good news of someone choosing to stay.

It is not easy, considering the reserve side now plays in the fourth division of Spain, and players are flooded with offers to join a second division side elsewhere or, in some cases, even a first division side such as Como or PSG.

Convincing these players to commit their future to Barcelona is not straightforward. It therefore comes as a massive relief, according to SPORT, that one of the most talented academy starlets, Juan Hernández, is likely to renew his contract.

According to the report, Barcelona have reached a preliminary agreement with Juan on a new deal to extend his stay at the club, and the player is willing to sign despite receiving offers from several other clubs.

The 18-year-old La Masia gem has already trained with the first team on multiple occasions, and Hansi Flick has called him up to the senior squad for the trip to the Czech Republic to face Slavia Prague in the Champions League. It is a massive boost of confidence for the youngster.

With a contract that expires in the summer, it would have been easy for Juan to pick any club of his choice and move there to continue his career. However, his commitment to succeed in Blaugrana colors is admirable.

It remains to be seen whether everything goes smoothly and Barcelona can get Juan Hernandez to put pen to paper on a new contract. Only time will tell how it pans out.
