FC Barcelona are looking to strengthen their squad even further this summer, despite having a very successful 2024-25 season, and have already identified the areas of their team that are in most need of reinforcement.
In fact, the Blaugranes have already done a lot of work in this regard, and are quite close to completing the signing of the RCD Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, while also being on track to sign Nico Williams.
However, the Catalans are still facing FFP problems, as they were again taken off the 1:1 status back in April by La Liga. As things stand, Barcelona are again looking forward to returning to this status, and are currently awaiting the certification that will endorse the construction of 457 VIP seats at Spotify Camp Nou, whose rights have already been sold to two companies for €100 million.
Meanwhile, a report from SPORT claims that the Blaugrana club has already started other operations to return to the 1:1 status, as the President of CENAFE, Miguel Galan, claims that they are close to completing the sale of a percentage of Barca Vision, for which Libero had stopped paying.
This lever will bring in an amount around €40 million into the Catalan club’s coffers, and this operation is expected to be completed by the end of this month. A European company is expected to pay this amount, which would assume a percentage of the entity’s shares in return, which are currently held by Barcelona Invest.
If this operation ends up a success, it would help the Blaugrana club return to the 1:1 rule, while also significantly improving the club’s net worth, which stood at €-91 million according to the accounts presented in the last assembly of delegates.
Thus, unlike the case in the last few years, Barcelona would be able to invest all of its sales income on new signings, and would have no problems in registering new players, including Joan Garcia and Nico Williams.
