Christensen, Inigo, and Gundogan have proved to be resounding successes with Eric Garcia having a decent impact. Kessie earned them a profit when he was sold but Alonso and Bellerin were utter failures.

Now, as per Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are evaluating the pros and cons of signing Canadian striker Jonathan David on a free transfer next summer. .

David’s words were a clear, come-get-me-call to Barcelona but the club wants to understand if the 24-year-old has what it takes to play at the highest level. There are concerns about his style of play and whether that would fit into the club’s plans.

To be fair to the Canadian striker, he has been scoring goals consistently in Ligue 1 for a few seasons now, and with every passing year, he seems to be developing. He also showcased his quality against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

However, arriving as a free agent, David is likely to expect a significant salary and a signing-on bonus. Thus, this doesn’t exactly represent a cheap transfer for Barcelona, especially with competition expected for the player’s signature.

Ultimately, this is for Hansi Flick and Deco to sit and analyze if the pros that David brings to the table outweigh the cons. Having him in the squad would be good depth for Lewandowski, who will be 37 next year, and let’s wait and see how it goes.
