In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Barcelona are eyeing a move for Inter Milan ace Denzel Dumfries. It has been stated that the Catalan club are showing interest in recruiting the Dutch full-back next year.
Dumfries has made a decent start to this campaign as he has been responsible for putting in a run of impressive displays on the right side of Inter’s defence. The Dutch talent has featured in ten matches for the Italian club this season, finding the back of the net three times in all competitions.
The 29-year-old has performed his defensive duties well and deserves credit for making six tackles, two blocks, four interceptions and ten clearances in Serie A. However, he needs to improve his ball distribution after completing just 73.5% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Italian football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at San Siro will expire in the summer of 2028. Hence, Barcelona would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about signing Dumfries next year.

Dumfries is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.
The Dutch talent can shoot the ball with venom from long range and can create the odd chance for his teammates from the right flank. He is primarily a right-back but can also function as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so by his manager.
We can expect Dumfries to bring more quality and depth to Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s defence. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Nou Camp in the coming years.
