Barcelona boss Flick provides Gavi injury update | OneFootball

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the wellbeing of midfield starlet Gavi.

This of course comes with the Spanish international in the midst of another long-term spell on the sidelines at present.

Youngster Gavi was for his part condemned to a fresh stretch away from the pitch back in September.

As much came upon the Barcelona medical team making the call to send the 21-year-old under the knife, for a knee operation.

Gavi suffered a problem in the same knee in which he previously tore the ACL during the early weeks of the campaign, with the Blaugrana having been understandably keen to take no chances.

Updates on his recovery have since been few and far between, with the midfielder expected to be sidelined well into the new year.

Speaking during his latest press conference on Friday, though, Hansi Flick was asked for the latest on Gavi’s comeback efforts.

And Barcelona’s headmaster went on to explain:

“Gavi’s return? He’s doing well. On Tuesday he celebrated the victory with everyone… He’s progressing well and I’m sure he’ll come back stronger than before.”
