Barcelona bound? Liverpool identify replacement for Luis Díaz | OneFootball

The brass at Premier League champions Liverpool have identified a priority replacement, in the case of Luis Díaz departing the club this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Malick Fofana as the player in question.

The name of winger Díaz has of course reemerged as an altogether prominent one across the European headlines over recent days.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Colombian is firmly in the sights of La Liga giants Barcelona with a view to next season.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements out wide, Deco and co. have earmarked Díaz as the ideal profile for Hansi Flick’s squad.

And if the latest word stemming from Anfield is anything to go by, then an exit coming to fruition for the 28-year-old over the months ahead is evidently considered a real possibility.

This comes amid confirmation that Liverpool are considering a move for the aforementioned Malick Fofana.

As per a report from MD:

‘Liverpool have Luis Díaz under contract until June 2027, but know Barça are lurking and that the winger is tempted to play for Barça. Given this scenario, the English sporting directors are exploring alternatives, and one of them is Malick Fofana of  Olympique Lyonnais.’
