Barcelona have set the Villarreal away allocation at 80 euros for the LaLiga EA Sports match at the Spotify Camp Nou on 28 February, kick-off 16.15.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Villarreal opened sales on Thursday for matchday 26, with tickets available in the club’s official shops until Thursday 26 January at 10.00 or until sold out. Buying is restricted to season-ticket holders, peña members and current Carnet Soc Groguet holders, with eligible fans outside Castellón province able to purchase via taquillas@villarrealcf.es.

Capacity remains limited to 45,400 while a major rebuild continues, well short of the planned 105,000. Barcelona resumed playing at their ground in November, amid issues including no initial away sector for Athletic Club, later price cuts, and persistent complaints of blurred views behind glazing with glare from sun or artificial light.

Villarreal have not played at the Spotify Camp Nou for roughly three and a half years, with their last two visits to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys finishing 3-5 in 2023/2024 and 2-3 last May. Their upcoming trip follows tomorrow’s game at Getafe’s Coliseum.

The 80 euros price has sparked incredulity on social media, with users branding it excessive and bemoaning views from behind glazing, while contrasting it with Premier League prices. The row has revived debate over ticket costs in Spanish football, with studies suggesting they rank among Europe’s highest and sometimes exceed Champions League matches.
