Barcelona are pushing hard to make Rodri their fourth summer signing after Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi and Jesse Bisiwu. They have already had two offers rejected by Manchester City, although the feeling is that it could be third time lucky for the Catalans.

Last week, Barcelona agreed personal terms with Rodri, thus stealing him from under Real Madrid’s noses. Since then, efforts have been ongoing to reach a deal with Man City, although they have been repelled at every turn until now, with bids of €45m and €60m having been knocked back by the Premier League giants.

Barcelona will go back in for a third time, and on this occasion, there is a lot of confidence that a deal will finally be reached. As per Victor Navarro, a club-to-club agreement has drawn closer in the last few hours, with the Catalans reportedly prepared to pay €65m plus add-ons to ensure that they get their man.

Barcelona want deal done in next 24 hours

Although there is no threat of a deal not being done before the transfer window closes, Barcelona are racing against the clock to secure an agreement with Man City. Rodri is due in Manchester on Friday to start his preparations for the 2026-27 season, but both he and the Catalan club want to have everything done before then.

All being well, Barcelona should finally have an agreement done in the next few hours. Rodri will be a sensational signing, and his expected arrival will be made all the more sweet given the circumstances of stealing him away from Real Madrid when a move to the Bernabeu seemed almost certain at one stage for the 2026 World Cup Golden Ball winner. For now, he is still waiting, although it does appear inevitable that he will head to the Spotify Camp Nou sooner rather than later.
