FC Barcelona remain on the lookout for exciting young talents across the globe, with their scouts always on alert for promising footballers with immense potential.
It has led to the Catalans recently showing an interest in Santos FC teenage left-back Joao Victor de Sousa, while they have also taken a liking to young wingers in the Bundesliga, such as Said El Mala and Antonio Nusa.
Now, it seems like Barcelona’s search for exciting jewels has taken them to Croatia.
Indeed, according to reports in Croatia, as relayed by SPORT, Barcelona scouts have travelled to watch Slaven Koprivnica in today’s match against HNK Gorica.
The aim is to follow the progress of midfielder Adriano Jagusic, a player who has drawn the attention of many clubs across Europe.
As per the report, the Blaugrana already have strong reports on the 20-year-old left-footed midfielder, who has surprised observers with his development in the Croatian league and is already a U-21 international.
Barcelona will study Jagusic closely in Koprivnica’s clash against Gorica, although this is not the first time this season that they have collected reports on him.
Scouts from Marseille are also expected to be present at the match, while the player’s entourage has already received approaches from Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig in recent weeks.
Standing at 1.78 metres, he plays between attacking midfield and the right wing, often starting wide before cutting inside on his strong left foot.
At Slaven, he is the player who receives the ball between the lines, turns naturally, and speeds up attacks with strong carries and clean first touches. So far this season, Jagusic has seven goals and five assists from 17 matches.
The 20-year-old’s current contract with Slaven Koprivnica runs until the summer of 2028 and it remains to be seen if Barcelona or any other big club come calling for him in the summer.
