Barcelona confident of hosting 2030 World Cup final at Spotify Camp Nou: “Very possible” | OneFootball

Recently, it was confirmed that Barcelona had won the hosting rights for the 2029 Champions League, but club bosses are not content with only this. They have already set their sights on the biggest match in football, the World Cup final, which will be held in Spain, Portugal or Morocco in 2030.

Ever since FIFA confirmed that the three nations had won the hosting rights for the 2030 World Cup, there has been a lot of discussion regarding the location of the final. Morocco wants it to be held at the Grand Stade Hassan II in Casablanca, while Spain has two stadiums in the mix: the Spotify Camp Nou is one, with the other being Real Madrid’s Bernabeu.

A final decision will be made by the end of 2026, but in the meantime, Antonio Escudero has expressed his confidence at the Spotify Camp Nou being the winning bid. Barcelona’s vice-president of the social area told Cadena SER (via MD) that there is a good chance for the 2030 World Cup final to be hosted in Catalonia.

“We would like it very much. I think so, it is very possible. The sports authorities of the world are for the work. We have made a great effort, and we have a great stadium. We have a great stadium, it’s time. There is a very high percentage that this is the case.”

Escudero: No plans to increase season ticket prices

Escudero was also asked about recent speculation of a possible season ticket price increase at Barcelona, although he made it clear that this is something that has not been discussed or thought about in-house.
