Barcelona consider move for Real Sociedad star | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the development of a member of the midfield ranks at Real Sociedad.

The player in question? Jon Gorrotxategi.

Gorrotxategi, for his part, is in the midst of something of a breakout season on the books of Sociedad.

Following the summer departure of Martín Zubimendi, the 23-year-old has taken on a surprisingly prominent role, featuring from the off in 14 of La Real’s 16 La Liga fixtures.

Gorrotxategi has been hailed for his efforts on both sides of the ball, with his positional sense and passing ability both of an excellent standard.

And as alluded to above, such exploits do not appear to have gone unnoticed behind the scenes at the reigning Spanish champions.

As per a report from Fichajes, eager not to repeat the Zubimendi mistake by missing out on another standout midfield talent in La Liga:
