On Sunday, FC Barcelona welcomed Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo back from their injury layoff for the game against Elche.

Now, with the UEFA Champions League game against Club Brugge coming up next, the Blaugrana have been greeted with more positive news on the injury front.

Andreas Christensen back

Indeed, as confirmed by SPORT, Andreas Christensen rejoined the group on Monday.

The Danish defender completed a light training session alongside most of the teammates who either did not play or started on the bench for Barcelona against Elche on Sunday.

Christensen’s return comes after several matches out of action, initially due to illness and later because of a muscle injury.

The former Chelsea ace missed three matches: against Olympiacos, Real Madrid, and Elche. The defender is now feeling well, and if there are no setbacks, he will be included in the squad for Wednesday’s match against Club Brugge.

No Joan Garcia yet

Goalkeeper Joan Garcia has not yet returned to group training. Barcelona consider it too early for him to rejoin full sessions, especially with the trip to Bruges scheduled for Tuesday.

It would make little sense for him to return this Wednesday only to miss the following two training days while the team is in Belgium.

In the best-case scenario, the 24-year-old goalkeeper will rejoin training later this week or early next week, provided his recovery continues as planned.

Hansi Flick had already stated that he does not expect Garcia to return before the international break, targeting the 22 November match against Athletic Club.
