According to SPORT, the FC Barcelona squad and head coach Hansi Flick are clear in their objective: they want to win La Liga as soon as possible, ideally this weekend.
Last weekend proved decisive in shaping the title race. Real Madrid dropped two points in stoppage time against Real Betis at Estadio de La Cartuja, while Barcelona secured a win away to Getafe.
The result meant an eleven-point lead for Barcelona with five matches left to be played.
This means Barcelona can mathematically secure the title this Sunday if they defeat CA Osasuna at El Sadar on Saturday and Real Madrid fail to win the following day against RCD Espanyol.
Within the club, there has been debate over whether it would be preferable to clinch the title immediately, even if it happens indirectly, or delay it until the Clasico at the Spotify Camp Nou against Real Madrid, which would provide a more celebratory setting.
However, inside the Barcelona dressing room, there is no hesitation. The players and coaching staff favour the quickest route.
They believe they have worked hard to reach this advantageous position and see no reason to take unnecessary risks by prolonging the title race.

Despite confidence that the title is within reach, there is awareness that unexpected results could complicate matters. A poor run could extend the race until the penultimate matchday.
For that reason, the priority is to secure the title immediately and avoid added pressure in the closing weeks.
Winning the title this weekend would still see Barcelona field a strong team in the Clasico, but it would allow several players to rest during the final three league matches.
After securing the title, Barcelona could still aim for additional milestones. One is reaching 100 points, matching the best-ever La Liga records set by Barcelona under Tito Vilanova in 2012/13, and Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho in 2011/12.
Another potential achievement would be becoming the first team in La Liga history to win all 19 home matches in a season. To do so, Barcelona would need to defeat Real Madrid in the Clasico and also overcome Real Betis.
However, these records are not a priority for the squad. The focus remains firmly on securing the league title as soon as possible.
