Barcelona have extended Fermin Lopez’s contract to 2031, the club said in a statement on Friday.
The 22-year-old midfielder remains with the club that developed him, committing beyond a deal that was due to expire in 2029.
The extension reflects his growing influence in Barcelona’s midfield in recent months.
Despite roughly a month and a half out across September to October, then December, with a muscle injury, he has played 26 matches this season.
His return is 10 goals and 11 assists, already surpassing his previous seasons’ totals.
He also started all seven Champions League matches for which he was available.
At international level, he has begun to establish himself with Spain, coming off the bench twice in the last camp, against Georgia 4-0 and Türkiye 2-2.
