Official: Fermin Lopez renews contract with Barcelona until 2031 | OneFootball

As was expected, FC Barcelona have officially announced that key midfielder Fermin Lopez has agreed a new contract with the club until 2031.

“Agreement has been reached between FC Barcelona and first team player Fermín López to extend and improve his contract for a further two seasons up to 30 June 2031,” the statement read.

“The contract will be signed during the coming days in the office of President Joan Laporta, when the player will also be speaking to the media.”

A product of La Masia, Fermin made his first-team breakthrough under Xavi Hernandez in 2023 and went on to sign a new deal a year later until 2029.

However, given how he has gone from strength to strength and become a prominent part of the team since then, Barcelona decided it was time to reward the young midfielder with a new deal with an improved salary reflecting his standing in the squad.

As such, Fermin has reached an agreement to extend his contract with the Blaugrana today, committing his future to the club until 2031.

As part of the new deal, it is believed that the youngster will see a 50% increase in his salary, while his release clause will also see a steep hike.
