Following a surprise loan move to Galatasaray last summer, Victor Osimhen has lit up the Turkish League, having scored 29 goals in 33 competitive matches since joining the club.

Osimhen has continued his stupendous form, which hasn’t gone unnoticed either, as big clubs across Europe line up to secure his services next summer.

Osimhen’s loan deal at Galatasaray expires at the end of the season, after which the forward will return to Napoli. However, it is likely that the forward will be allowed to leave the club, having completely fallen out with the board.

Barcelona are on the prowl

Osimhen’s brilliant performances in the Turkish League have put Barcelona on red alert, as per reports from Diario AS.

It appears Barça are targeting Osimhen as a powerful striker who can serve as an alternative for Robert Lewandowski.

Although Barça are more than ready to entrust Lewandowski with the responsibility of frontlining the attack for another season, the club remain open to market opportunities.

Osimhen, to that end, could be one such opportunity too good to pass. The Nigerian international has a solid track record, having scored a plethora of goals in Serie A with Napoli.

The forward has also completely fallen out with Napoli, meaning he could be available for a discounted fee in the summer, as the Italian giants desperately look to get rid of his services.

That said, Barcelona are set to face stiff competition from Juventus in the race to sign Osimhen, who is courted by a series of top clubs across Europe.

Not to mention, Galatasaray themselves are not too keen on letting Osimhen return to Napoli and are willing to do everything they can financially to keep hold of the Nigerian international.

This could make the job all the more difficult for Barcelona, who are likely to face financial troubles once again in the coming summer.
