Barcelona face Atletico Madrid competition for €45 million-rated German striker | OneFootball

As we approach the final week of the transfer window, Barcelona’s search for a new striker is only expected to intensify.

It appears the club are seemingly readying themselves for the idea that Julian Alvarez may not join the club at all and have started looking more closely at alternatives.

One of those alternatives is Nicolo Tresoldi, who has emerged as an interesting option for the Blaugrana in this final week of the transfer market.

However, the Catalans are set to face a familiar rival in the race to sign the German striker, with Atletico Madrid also monitoring the forward.

With Alvarez’s future still unclear, Atleti are also in the market for a new striker and Tresoldi fits the bill well given his poaching abilities inside the box.

It has been reported recently that Tresoldi is waiting for Barcelona to make a move, in case they fail to sign Alvarez this summer.

Many obstacles for Barcelona

Other than the interest from Atletico Madrid, the Catalans may also have to cough up a sizable amount for the services of the German.

The report adds that Club Brugge will not entertain any offers below the €45 million mark.

Although that is significantly lower than some of the other options knocking at Barcelona’s doors, it is quite a fortune for a striker who has yet to prove himself in any of Europe’s top five leagues.

That being said, Tresoldi, at 22, has a lot of potential and has looked the most promising, as far as finding an alternative for Alvarez is concerned.

Barcelona have already had a bit of luck signing Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge, which is all the more reason why the club should be open to taking a gamble on Tresoldi.
