Barcelona fans defend one player after Chelsea disaster | OneFootball

Fans of La Liga giants Barcelona have moved to defend one member of Hansi Flick’s squad in the aftermath of their side’s meeting with Chelsea.

The player in question? Raphinha.

Barcelona are of course fresh off an evening to forget on the continent.

After making the trip to Stamford Bridge to lock horns with the aforementioned Chelsea in the Champions League, the Blaugrana found themselves condemned to the wrong side of an alarming 3-0 result.

Across the 90 minutes, barely a single Barca star was able to have a positive impact on proceedings, hamstrung by Ronald Araújo’s needless red card.

But as alluded to above, post-match, one player, in Raphinha, has nevertheless been shielded from the widespread criticism.

Fresh off his return from injury, the Brazilian international was introduced to proceedings late on in west London.

And though he could not ultimately affect the scoreline, Raphinha showcased the kind of will and drive which was so lacking on the part of his teammates.

To the point that the former Leeds United man was actually praised by the understandably frustrated Barcelona faithful.
